Are Sweet Potato Village Products Safe?
All of the toys we produce are CPSC safety certified for children ages 3+. Sweet Potato Village is a registered small batch manufacturer, which allows us to stay up to date on any potential recall information with items used in the making of our toys. All items undergo routine ASTM drop testing as part of our production process which involves each toy being dropped onto hard surface flooring at least 10 times from over 6’, after which we examine the toys for any cracks, chips, or damage. All items are inspected for sharp edges or corners before being sent out. We also maintain up to date regular lead testing in any sealants used in the making of our toys.
Safety is our number one priority, both in the items you receive and in our workshop and the way the toys are produced.
How often do you restock your shop?
We aim to restock our shop every 2-4 weeks. If there is a specific item you would like to see us restock, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us either through our email, charlotte@sweetpotatovillage.us , or send us a message through our Instagram account HERE. We will do our best to include it in our next shop restock.

What are your toys made from?
We use high quality hardwoods, like hard maple, beech, and hickory. Over 90% of our toys are made with hickory wood, the hardest wood native to North America. We then paint the toys using food-safe dyes, and the colors are sealed with nontoxic and hypoallergenic Shellac sealant. This is a light sealant and is not waterproof, but it works to lock in the colors to prevent any color transfer onto other toys. The toys are then finished with an all natural beeswax paste to help condition the wood and repel moisture.
Where are your toys made?
All of our wooden toys are handmade by my husband and I at our home in our 100 square foot shop, located on the beautiful Oregon Coast, USA.
When did Sweet Potato Village first begin?
We opened our small business in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic in May of 2019. We became inspired by the art of beautiful wooden toys that were designed to grow with your children and be used by little ones of all ages, so with our own young one as our inspiration, we started creating.
